The definition of "political avenue" are 'based on the fact that a political decision are affecting the way of life-choices, that many people have access to when they "move" / or / "travel" "through their lives or any of the alternatives politicians make available to them at large.
When it's about a politician, the politician takes a certain way of political path through all the choices he is surrounded with / or by taking a certain political path and by trying different options that affects many of the governed. You make a political avenue by trying to stay there. Often this leads to bad or criminal behavior, by the politician, to remain at his top position as a leader, when next voting comes. Lying to the governed people, are a trick of the trade. Many people can walk over corpses to stay in the top. That's why politics are dirty, and the political avenue, when studied, really shows in what direction he or she is heading.

The Indonesian Armed Forces commander General Gatot Nurmantyo is a blowback to another era, a variation on the Cold War warrior who, instead of Reds, sees Americans and Australians under every bed. He believes US Marines training in northern Australia are there for the eventual takeover of Papua, he suspects some of his own overseas-trained officers may be agents of influence and he thinks foreigners in general are engaged in a proxy war to undermine Indonesia.
